Vermont Castings Warranty Issues

This is an on-line discussion forum called Vermont Castings Warranty Issues.  We have assembled this site to collaborate with all Vermont Casting and Dutch West stove owners who have realized that their warranty is no longer honored by Monessen Hearth Systems Company (MHSC).  My first experience with a warranty issue was on January 19 2010.  I purchased a Vermont Castings Defiant 1610 Non-catalytic Wood stove with a "lifetime" warranty on the Everburn system in October 2006.  The Everburn system developed a crack in the Fireback Part Number  30002840 and Shoe Refractory  Part Number 30002243 in November 2009.  After a discussion with my local Vermont Castings Dealer, I was informed that CFM Corporation ( the former owner of Vermont Castings) filed for Chapter 11 in 2008.  He then informed me that Monessen will no longer honor any warranty claims prior to the buyout.  It just infuriates me that a company can purchase another company out of bankruptcy and still make the Identical product/s with the identical lifetime warranty/s, but will truly divorce the responsibility of the Vermont Castings name and leave the previous dedicated Vermont Casting owners high and dry.  This site is for anyone who has had similar issues with their products.  Please post responsibility, and be as informative as possible.
